6″Celtic Bas relief ceramic dove of peace in fern green glaze made from earthenware clay.
The dove symbolises wisdom, re-birth and harmony. In the ancient world, the concept of harmony was close to healing. Images of doves were offered to the Celtic healer-deities of thermal springs, multiple stone figures of doves were offered to the curative spirits presiding over shrines. Like ravens, doves were perceived as oracular birds. Both dove and olive branch originally meant “the peace of the goddess”.
These tiles are hand carved, pressed, glazed and made especially for you giving each one a unique character. As a result, colour may vary slightly.
